GTB PRESENTS LAGOS FASHION & DESIGN WEEK DAY 3

I was unable to attend the third day of fashion week. However, I was happy to learn that two of my favourite designers ‘Re Bahia’ & ‘Lisa Folawiyo’ killed it! After perusing the official images, a lot of the collections stood out today.
The show started off with Ella Gabby’s collection. The dress below caught my eye!

I’m positive that the picture of this dress (below) does not do this outfit justice. I can imagine it drapes and moves gracefully!

Up next was Kiki Kamanu‘s collection!

I love the way the neckline comes below her arm. A little décolletage never hurt anybody!
Iconic Invanity came forth with beautiful beaded clothes! The dress below is my favourite.
I was more of a fan of the tighter fitting clothes they designed. Why you ask? I will explain below.
Orange Culture definitely had some ‘avant-garde’ outfits in their showcase. I loved the piece below.
IamIsigo made the jacket below so I’m not mad at anything anymore! Her aesthetic is not for everybody but that’s where a person’s creativity comes in. If you can’t pull off this type of swag, you can mix and match her clothes and make it your own.

Lisa Folawiyo was one designer I was really hoping to see! Her collection was filled with geometric prints, innovative designs and FRINGE! I love fringe and I was happy that there was a lot of it on today’s runway!

Tsemaye Binite had a great showcase! I cannot fault them in any way because they brought fringe back as well.

Republic of Foreigner  ‘ROF’ wowed me with their designs. I believe that simplicity is key with design. I also believe the simpler it is, the harder it is to create. With an overworked outfit, the flaws can easily be hidden behind beads and sequins. This was what I was saying about Iconic Invanity’s designs. It was visually appealing but it could not hide the fact that some of the clothes were a little ill fitting on the models.

Re Bahia was another designer I was looking forward to seeing. I was happy to learn that her designs (as I had expected) did not disappoint. I love her clean and minimal aesthetic!

Maybelline Cosmetics had a little show of their own.

If this is what day 3 of fashion week had in store for us, day 4 is bound to be fire!
