This paragraph is somewhat unrelated to this post but I needed to get it off my chest – why are fashion press releases so deep now – everything from the fabric to the pleating is impactful, with meaning and every brand is ‘luxury’? Can’t we just make clothes, must the clothes come with a background story?
I digress.
Lanre DaSilva Ajayi released her SS/17 collection titled ‘Artistic Statement’. I liked an image I saw from the collection earlier today on instagram, until I saw the rest of the shoot online. I wish its concept had been more adventurous since the whole point was to make an ‘artistic statement’. Some of clothes were also not well tailored and a little mis-matched/out of place (it’s like okay I know I want to make a statement but what am I actually wearing) – definitely not what we’ve come to know and love from the brand.
I did like a lot of the prints which I understand was a collaboration between her and artist Ayoola Gbolahan. My favourite look of this collection would have to be the black printed dresses at the bottom. Check out the collection below
I’m an aspiring model, and I would appreciate any form of assistance you can render in getting me discovered.
Thank you.
