I visit Harrods and Selfridges to window shop, not just because I am a mere mortal and not particularly moved by the luxury life, I just love how well put together everything usually is in there. I love walking into the stores to see all the amazing luxury brands with their beautiful designs, all with a clear digital and visual marketing strategy that hits their target buyer audience right on the head.
My birthday is coming up and I’ve been in a self-care mood all month – this caused me to do some research today, and I thought to share this, for those of us who might have been ignorant to it.
I was amazed to find out that there were six companies dominating the fashion industry. I knew of some of them, but I suppose I wasn’t aware of the extent of their reach.
Although a select number of high-end labels (like Chanel & Hermès) are privately owned, more and more of the world’s best known brands belong to major conglomerates, like LVMH.
In the graphic above, you can see how just six large companies control over forty of the world’s top luxury fashion brands.
